Here we are back at the first shot. This image is 500 x 375 cropped directly from the camera-generated image. The camera was set to produce JPEG at its "HQ" setting, which generates a JPEG of approximately 500K bytes.

This means that were I using the camera to produce images for the web, I get a further 3.2:1 "zoom" by the simple process of cropping from the image. So, you can think of this as a 32:1 zoom.

But here, our purpose is to consider the quality of this shot for print publication. As you can see, it's quite crisp. Add a touch of sharpening in Photoshop, increase the contrast a touch, and this would make a very nice printed image.
